RisingOaks Early Learning Ontario believes that community connection is essential for nurturing the next generation. Earlier this year, they hosted their beloved annual event, Movie in the Park, at Max Becker Commons thanks to the support of the LoveMyHood Matching Grant and community partners, including the Williamsburg Community Association and RBJ Schlegel. 

The additional funds from the LoveMyHood Matching Grant allowed them to broaden their reach throughout the neighbourhood and add additional attractions to maximize the fun! The more people they welcomed, the more vibrant their gathering became. This year, over 300 residents attended Movie in the Park! 

Completing this project has deepened their sense of community. Seeing neighbours gather, enjoy each other’s company, and create lasting memories reminds them why they do what they do. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and it’s heartening to know that their efforts to strengthen community ties have been successful. 

As they reflect on this year’s event, they are already excited about the future. With each passing year, they learn and grow, ensuring that Movie in the Park remains a cherished tradition for everyone in their neighborhood. Thank you to all who participated and made this event a success!
