Plan your next LoveMyHood neighbourhood project from home
Here at LoveMyHood, we’re hearing lots of stories of neighbourhood connections being forged during these challenging times. From banging pots and pans to offering gardening support, neighbours across Kitchener are finding new ways to work together!
How about you? Has the view from your window, balcony or front door got you thinking about how you could enhance your neighbourhood? Maybe you want to find new ways to stay connected with your neighbours, dream of turning the green space around your apartment building into a garden or want to harness the strengths of your neighbours to tackle a challenge.
Whatever your idea may be, we're here to help! Our team of Neighbourhood Liaisons are available by phone or video to help you think through next steps, including helping you set up phone or video meeting with your neighbours to get started and providing support with applying for a LoveMyHood Matching Grant to make your project happen.
Last month, Doon Pioneer Park resident Beth Wilson had an idea to inspire her neighbours to create art during the pandemic. She reached out to LoveMyHood and we helped Beth pull together a network of neighbours to make it happen, including the Doon Pioneer Park Community Association and the Homer Watson Gallery. After a few video meetings and some awesome virtual team work, the Doon Pioneer Park community art project, Together apART, was born. Applications to the LoveMyHood Matching Grant are now being accepted until Thursday, August 20, 2020 with up to $30,000 in funding available, so we’ll continue to support Beth and her neighbours apply to fund a future neighbourhood art show!
Don't hesitate to connect with our team of neighbourhood liaisons when you have an idea or project you want to get started on. It's our job to make sure you get the support you need to make great things happen in your neighbourhood.
