Neighbours Day is the second Saturday in June
Are you interested in hosting your own Neighbours Day event? Many resident groups across the city organize their own events to get neighbours out and involved in the community. There's lots of resources to help you get started and make planning your event as easy as possible.

Browse the Ideas and Inspiration board for stories about past event. Your Neighbours Day event can be as large or small as you like. You can keep it simple with a BBQ or movie in the park, or porch party or get the entire neighbourhood involved in an activity.
How to host your own Neighbours Day event
Stay tuned in 2019 to find out how to register your event. You'll want to consider the following if you're hosting your own event on Neighbours Day:
- events must occur within a neighbourhood on public land within Kitchener city limits (this is not intended for events with a city-wide audience or purpose),
- be open to the public and accessible to everyone,
- offer free admission and some free activities, and
- promote the spirit of Neighbours Day by bringing neighbours together.

The Festival of Neighbourhoods program (FON) has lots of helpful information to help plan your event, including a trunk full of resources with supplies you can borrow for your event.
