Celebrating the Latest Enhancement to Carlyle Place
The Carlyle Place cul-de-sac green space, referred to by residents as the circle, has long been a central gathering spot, first envisioned as a neighbourhood space over ten years ago. It’s where friends meet to chat, celebrate life achievements, host events, and enjoy the beauty of their shared green space. The addition of a new bench represents more than just a place to sit; it symbolizes a commitment to community and a shared vision for enhancing their neighbourhood.
The idea for the new bench began with a simple observation: The circle, while a central hub of activity and neighbourly interaction, needed additional durable seating options. A group of dedicated neghbours stepped up to address this need by submitting a LoveMyHood Matching Grant application. Their proposal highlighted the benefits of adding a new bench – more seating for community members, a boost to the aesthetic appeal of the space, and an enhancement to the overall functionality of the circle.
Fast forward to today, and the bench is installed, and it’s everything the neighbourhood had hoped for. The bench combines durability with style, and most importantly ensures that everyone – from the elderly to young families – can enjoy a moment of rest and relaxation, enjoying a view of the garden or delving into a good book from the little library.
The success of the grant application and the installation of the bench is a testament to the power of neighbourhood collaboration. The residents’ dedication to improving their shared space, combined with their advocation for the project, has resulted in a meaningful upgrade to the circle. The new bench stands as a reminder of the positive impact we can achieve when we work together to enhance our neighbourhoods.
